@ the fans who are legit really mad about the fact ciel having a twin is now confirmed, i just wanna know, like… why? why you so mad about it? i’m genuinely curious as to people’s reasons cuz all i’ve seen so far are posts complaining without reason

Well, in “The Answer”, Pearl was alongside Rose, calling herself a Crystal Gem.

And that was before the rebellion was over. So we know Pink Diamond wasn’t shattered YET. (Because it was her shattering that ended the war.)

At the very least, Pearl wasn’t Pink Diamond’s Pearl, that defected because she was shattered.

(Sidenote, Sardonyx also has pink diamonds on her feet, so despite what I’m about to say, there’s evidence for BOTH.)

I don’t know how Pearl would have been Pink’s though, because Pearls are supposed to “stand around” and “hold you things for you”. The Pearls we’ve seen are ALWAYS glued to their Diamond’s side. It was expected that Pearl would stick close to Sapphire when she was acting as “hers” in The Zoo.

I mean, Blue Pearl goes like fifteen feet from Blue Diamond in Steven’s Dream, and Blue asks, “Pearl, what are you doing?” Despite being deeply absorbed in her moment of grieving, she noticed and asked.

How would Pearl have been able to have been absent enough, without her absence being noticed, for long enough to double-play Pink Diamond?

There’s some evidence there that Pearl was assigned to White Diamond– namely that Pearls are made-to-order, and both Blue and Yellow Pearls match their Diamond’s gem placement, color/aesthetic, and personality.

Pearl’s gem is on her forehead, just like White Diamond’s mural. Her hair is short and framing her face up front, and pointed upwards in the back. Again: elements noticeable in White Diamond’s mural. (Although: Pink’s hair also points up and back.)

But most telling of all, Pearl’s gem and skin are white– just like a certain Diamond we yet know NOTHING about…

And even when Gems are shapeshifting and reforming, they seem utterly unable to change their color scheme.

oooh i thought it was unknown whether ‘the answer’ happened before or after pink diamond was shattered? i certainly didn’t know, but you say it was before because the shattering ended the war? where does it say that in the show, i must be forgetting it? o.o

but yeah, as you’ve already read from my past theory post, i believe our pearl was made for white but then moved to pink’s court for whatever unknown reason, which is how she met rose. 

having said this, i don’t use her hair-style as evidence of this, as it looks different in ‘we need to talk’ than it does in the present, and not really like white diamond’s style. 

i totally agree though, i still think she was white’s. 

i wanna discuss with you now who you think shattered pink, having watched steven bomb 6. :3

really speaking, after ‘the trial’, there’s only one thing standing in the way of us being able to confirm that our pearl was not pink pearl, and that is the lack of knowledge for when exactly pearl joined rose quartz and thus became a known criminal along with her. 

blue zircon says that before shattering pink diamond, rose had been a known criminal for ‘several hundred years’. if we knew that before the shattering of pink diamond, pearl had also become a known criminal alongside rose, then it wouldn’t make sense that our pearl was pink diamond’s pearl. this is because zircon then goes on to question ‘where was [pink diamond’s] pearl?’ 

if our pearl had been pink diamond’s pearl and had by this point joined rose, then there’d be no need to ask that question as the diamonds and everyone else would’ve already known where pink’s pearl was - rebelling with rose. 

that is, unless, she was acting at this time as a double agent. 

just something i thought i’d point out. i love how much new info we’re getting and am trying to piece things together for it to make sense. i especially try to piece together pearl’s backstory whenever i can. 

at this point, even given this new information (and in part because of it), i still stand by my original theory of pearl’s ownership. 

@ everyone wondering what would happen if lars entered lion’s mane and tried to exit through his own portal, i don’t think lars would even be able to enter lion’s mane. so far, it seems like steven is the only one who can enter the portals, as he has rose’s gem and therefore ‘created’ them. so, yeah…
